Bashamichi Street Chess 2025

 

The annual Bashamichi Street Chess will be held again this year.

This is a fun event for those who are interested in chess but have never played before.

Invite your friends and family, and let’s get together in Yokohama!

 

Date: 2025/11/3 (Monday and holidays) 11:00-15:00

The event will be held on the final day of the Bashamichi Festival, scheduled for October 31 to November 3.

It’s a splendid festival featuring ladies dressed in dresses from the Rokumeikan era and horse-drawn carriages passing by.

Various other events are also taking place, so please enjoy those as well.

Events

Knock-out Tournament

The final match will be played dynamically on the big chess board built in the road.

Both player will have 5~10 minutes to play in the blitz game, and Black will advance in case of a draw.

 

Registration:16 people will be accepted on site on the day of the event (if there are too many applications, a drawing will be held)

Free to participate, so jump in the tournament!

Lecture for beginners

Staff will explain how to move the pieces to those who want to try chess.

Casual Matches

Between the tournaments, you can play casually with the big board or the boards on the tables.
