The 10th Eastern Asia Youth Chess Championships 2026 will be held in Hainan, China from Thursday, August 20 to Sunday, August 30.
Registration: Please register via this form by Wednesday, July 15. Please review the tournament regulations carefully and submit your application only after confirming your understanding and acceptance of all terms and conditions.
※A parent or guardian is requested to accompany the player when participating.
※Accompanying persons are required to stay at the official hotel. The costs for accompanying persons are as stated in the tournament regulations.
※For players who have submitted a request to participate in this tournament through the Invitation Slot Allocation System, the deadline for visa-related procedures, if a visa is required, will be provided separately.
Eligibility: U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 (Open and Girls sections; one invited spot per category, for a total of 12 invitation spots)
*U8 refers to players of Japan Chess Federation who have not reached the age of 8 by January 1, 2026.
Official players will not need to pay for accommodation and meals. Official players will be determined based on the results of the Japan Youth Chess Championship 2026 and the Japan Cadets Chess Championship 2026.
In this tournament, direct titles will be awarded to the top three players in each of the Open and Girls categories according to FIDE regulations.

U18 – Gold: IM/WIM title, 1st equal: IM/WIM norm, Silver and Bronze: FM/WFM title

U16 – Gold: IM/WIM norm, 1st equal: FM/WFM title, Silver and Bronze: CM/WCM title

U14 & U12 – Gold: FM/WFM title, Silver and Bronze: CM/WCM title

U10 & U8 – Gold, Silver, and Bronze: CM/WCM title
Each title will be awarded once the player has reached the following rating thresholds, even at a previous time:
IM 2200 / WIM 2000, FM 2100 / WFM 1900, CM 2000 / WCM 1800.
