Japan – Argentina Online Friendly Match Announcement

The Japan Chess Federation and the Argentine Chess Federation will host the Japan – Argentina Online Friendly Match for youth and cadet players on Sunday, March 9.
This event is being held to commemorate the 25th “Argentine Cup”, a long-standing part of the Japan Chess Championship, which has been supported by the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Japan for many years.
Based on the results of the Japan Youth Chess Championship 2024 and the Japan Cadets Chess Championship 2024, which were held in April last year, the following six players will participate.

Participants (in order of age category):
U18 – Cocoro Matsumura
U16 – Aviral Agarwal
U14 – Shiho Yura Katayama
U12 – Kensei Gokita
U10 – Saya Kikuchi
U8 – Yukihide Shirato

The matches will be played in Rapid format (10 minutes + 5 seconds per move). The first game is scheduled to start at 8:15 AM (JST), followed by the second game at 9:00 AM (JST).
