Reason for Award

For his outstanding achievements as a top player in the Japanese chess community over a long period, including winning the Japan Chess Championship 12 times between 1971 and 2001 and representing Japan in the Chess Olympiad four times between 1972 and 2002.

Recognition

Awards ceremony and presentation of commemorative gifts will take place at the “Japan Chess Championship” scheduled for May 2024.
