Update on Tournament Schedule and Venue in 2026

We would like to announce the confirmed dates and venues for the following tournaments, which were previously listed as provisional in the “Domestic Tournament Calendar 2026”:

 

Japan Team Chess Championship 2026

Dates: October 10 (Sat) – October 11 (Sun)

Venue: Curian (Shinagawa, Tokyo)

 

Japan Rapid Chess Championship 2026

Dates: October 24 (Sat) – October 25 (Sun)

Venue: Curian (Shinagawa, Tokyo)

 

Japan Open 2026

Dates: November 21 (Sat) – November 25 (Wed)

Venue: X Wave Makuhari (Mihama-ku, Chiba)

 

Call for Volunteers: Japan Open Organizing Committee Members

 

The Japan Open 2026 will be held from November 21 to November 25.

We are looking for volunteers to join the Organizing Committee and support planning and preparation  for the event together with the federation staff.

Main Responsibilities 

• Planning the tournament structure (sections, schedule, entry fees, GM invitations, etc.)
• Preparing and publishing the tournament regulations
• Coordinating accommodation arrangements
• Handling inquiries related to registration
• Preparing for tournament operations (manuals, equipment, etc.)

 

The committee will work collaboratively using online tools, sharing tasks such as drafting documents and coordinating preparations. Building on materials from previous years, we aim to further improve the quality of tournament organization.
