The following players have been informally selected as national team members at the 45th Chess Olympiad to be held in Budapest, Hungary this September.

Open Team

• FM Aoshima, Mirai (2022 Japan Chess Champion)
• IM Nanjo, Ryosuke (2023 Japan Chess Champion)
• CM Tran, Thanh Tu (Players with the highest standard rating with the ratio of FIDE:National = 7:3, excluding above 2 players)
• IM Kojima, Shinya (Same as above)
• FM Yamada, Kohei (Same as above)

Women’s Team

• Mitsuyama, Rikka (2022 Japan Women’s Chess Champion)
• WCM Sakai, Azumi (2023 Japan Women’s Chess Champion)
• Kinoshita, Kanako (Players with the highest standard rating with the ratio of FIDE:National = 7:3, excluding above 2 players)
• Takayasu, Melody (Same as above)
• Ishizuka, Mirai (Same as above)
