Japan Chess Federation’s 5th Anniversary Commemorative Initiatives
Award Categories and Selection Criteria
- Best Player Award:
This award is presented to the player who performed the best throughout the year, considering their achievements in major national tournaments as well as their performance in international competitions. - Most Games Played Award:
This award is presented to the player who participated in the most official domestic standard tournaments over the course of the year. - Best Arbiter Award:
This award is presented to the arbiter who made the most significant contributions throughout the year, considering the number and scale of tournaments they officiated, as well as their efforts in nurturing future arbiters. - Best Club Award:
This award is presented to the registered club that contributed the most to the promotion and development of chess in Japan over the year, considering factors such as hosting rated tournaments, conducting lectures, and other promotional activities.
Recipients will be presented with commemorative items. We will also continue to review and potentially expand the award categories in the future.
Methods for Determining Award Recipients
Recipients of the Best Player Award, Most Games Played Award, and Best Arbiter Award will be decided at the Board Meeting held in January.
The Best Club Award will be decided by a vote among attendees at the Club Leaders’ Meeting, also held in January.
Award recipients will be announced on the Japan Chess Federation’s website on the anniversary of its founding, February 1.
