40th Cappelle la Grande Open

The 40th Cappelle la Grande Open will be held in Cappelle-la-Grande, France, from March 2nd (Sat) to March 8th (Fri), followed by the 7th Cappelle la Grande Rapid Tournament on March 9th (Sat). In this event, up to four Japanese players (players with chess nationality as Japanese) have the opportunity to participate as invited players. 

Invited players will receive complimentary accommodation during the event. Please note that accommodation will be based on double occupancy (twin room with breakfast). Kindly be aware that you may share a room with another invited Japanese player. 

If you wish to participate as an invited player, please apply through this form by November 19th (Sun). In the event of more than four applications, the invited players will be determined based on the results of the Japan Chess Championship 2023.

We received applications from seven individuals and have determined the invited players based on their performance at the “Japan Chess Championship 2023” as follows:

• Nanjo, Ryosuke
• Nakahara, Kan
• Otsuka, Shou
• Nagataki, Kota

Please note that this tournament is an open event, and participation is not limited to invited players. Please consider entering through the general entry slots as well.
