The 24th ASEAN+ Age-Group Chess Championships 2026 will be held from Friday, August 7th, to Monday, August 17th, in Singapore.
Registration: Please apply using this form by Sunday, May 17th.
*Please note that meals are not included in the official hotel fees.
Eligibility: U6, U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18, U20 (Open and Girls)
*e.g., U6 players must be under 6 years old as of January 1, 2026 (born on or after 2020).
20<50 Category – Premier (Rating 2000 and above)
20<50 Category – Challengers (Below Rating 2000)
Over-50 (Open and Women) – Born on or before 1976
Over-65 (Open and Women) – Born on or before 1961
Direct titles will be awarded to the top three players in each of the following categories (Open and Girls) in accordance with the current FIDE regulations.
U20 – Gold: IM/WIM norm, Silver & Bronze: FM/WFM titles
U18 – Gold & Silver: FM/WFM titles, Bronze: CM/WCM titles
U16 & U14 – 1st equal: FM/WFM titles, Silver & Bronze: CM/WCM titles
U12, U10 & U8 – Gold, Silver, and Bronze all receive CM/WCM titles
Each title will be awarded once the player has reached the following rating thresholds:
IM 2200 / WIM 2000, FM 2100 / WFM 1900, CM 2000 / WCM 1800.
Additionally, the Premier (20<50) Category is a tournament where title norm opportunities may be available.
Update (April 15)
The regulations have been updated, and the document has been replaced accordingly. The main changes are as follows:
- For the two categories within the 20<50 section (Premier and Challenger), players affiliated with federations from all countries and regions are now eligible to apply.
- Direct titles for the 50+ and 65+ categories (Open and Women) have been added. In addition, detailed conditions for obtaining direct titles in the U20 and U18 categories (Open and Women) have been further specified.
- Players participating in the 20<50 categories (Premier and Challenger) are not required to stay at the official hotel.
