Format: 3 tournament-style games in which all participants play the game, not a winner-take-all format. Time allotted is 15 minutes, with 10 seconds added for each move. No rating will be given.
Pairings: Pairings will be made on the day of the tournament so that each white player and black player can play at least once. Also, as far as possible, pairings will be made after the second game between the winners or losers.
Registration
Entry criteria: Beginners (Recommended for players with Chess.com rating under 1200 a/o Lichess rating under 1400)
Entry fee: 2,000 yen for members, 3,000 yen for non-members
For members, please make sure that your membership is effective until the date of the tournament.
Registration: Purchase electronic tickets through [Peatix] during the registration period. (Limit: 12 players)

A “waiting list” ticket will be sold at the same price along with the “participation ticket” on Peatix.
“Waiting list tickets” can be purchased only when the capacity has been reached and regular tickets are sold out. If a cancellation occurs, the participants will be allowed to participate in the tournament in the order in which they purchased their “waiting list tickets,” and the purchase price will be applied directly to the entry fee. If the waiting list is not filled by one week prior to the tournament, the purchase price will be refunded.
If a waiting list ticket purchaser becomes eligible to participate in the tournament, he/she will be notified via his/her registered email address.

Please read through the “https://japanchess.org/en/top/tournament-faq/” in advance to get an idea of how the event will go.
Clocks and chess sets will be provided by the organizer.
It is not necessary to write a game record, but if you can write, please do so. If necessary, advisors will be available to teach you how to write.
All electronic devices including smartphones, tablets or smartwatches must be turned off and stored away. Players are not allowed to keep it on him/her or take it outside of the venue in a bag. When a player breaks these rules, his/her game shall be immediately lost. It is forbidden for anybody to use a mobile phone or any kind of communication device in the playing venue.
If you have a fever or feel unwell, please notify the staff and leave the venue immediately. The organizers may ask you to leave the venue if it is obvious that you are not feeling well.
The wearing of masks in the venue is left to the discretion of the individual. Even in cases where there is no obvious physical illness, the organizers may ask participants to wear a new non-woven mask if they have symptoms such as coughing or sneezing due to hay fever, etc.
The rules of the game will be the same as for regular tournaments. However, illegal moves will not be considered as a foul in this trial event.
Please be quiet in the game room and be considerate of the players around you, even after your game is over.
Normally, there is a waiting room separate from the game room where games can be reviewed. However, this time, there is no anteroom due to the convenience of the venue.
Please be advised that photographs will be taken at the event for use on the japanchess.org website, in the press, and other publications. By entering this event, you consent to the Japan Chess Federation photographing and using your image and likeness.
If you wish to cancel your participation in the competition, please contact japanchess.info@gmail.com
If you cancel up to 8 days before the application deadline and the number of participants has not reached the maximum number, you will receive a refund.
No refunds will be made for any reason after 7 days prior to the registration deadline or when the maximum number of participants has been reached.
The Japan Chess Federation cannot be held responsible for any problems that occur between individuals.
If there is a discrepancy between English and Japanese, the Japanese version prevails.
