The Japan Chess Federation’s operations are currently carried out by approximately 40 volunteer staff members divided into six departments. However, in order to accelerate the implementation of measures aimed at realizing “Vision 2030” and to streamline organizational operations in response to the increase in staff numbers, we have decided to implement organizational changes effective August 1.
A new “Secretariat” will be established to oversee accounting and finance, compliance, staff management, and sponsor relations—duties previously handled by the Directors.
The Public Relations Department, Live Streaming Department, and Editorial Department will be consolidated into a single “Public Relations Department.” Through strengthened collaboration across media outlets and improved operational efficiency, we aim to enhance our communication capabilities, increase public awareness, and promote membership growth.
We will establish a new “Promotion Department” to oversee promotion activities, including organizing promotional events and courses, as well as managing chess centers. Events other than tournaments will be transferred to the Promotion Department, and the Events Department will be renamed the “Tournament Department.”
We will establish a new “Development & Training Department” to foster youth and female players through programs to strengthen top players, provide training programs, and create educational materials.
As a result of these changes, the organizational chart will be as shown below.
